My name is Bill McTigue, founder and director of mhealth. I acquired my bachelor’s degree in Physiology and Pharmacology from Monash University before heading off to the University of Sydney to complete my Physiotherapy degree. I also have a Masters Degree in Sports Physiotherapy.
mhealth was established in 1998 and has grown consistently ever since. Prior to establishing mhealth, I worked in large teaching hospitals in NSW, Victoria and overseas. As a sports physiotherapist I have been involved with many different sports over the years including golf, triathlon, AFL Football, netball and basketball. I have a specialty area of interest in the long-term athletic development of young athletes (8 years and up) into adult athletes.
One of the most rewarding parts of being a senior physiotherapist is teaching and sharing my skills with other clinicians who are as passionate as I am in changing the lives of their clients for the better. Work is fun when you love what you do!
My goal is to help people understand that physiotherapy is not just about the physical aspect of people’s lives. It’s about helping people get their physical issues right so they can pursue their life goals and the things that really matter to them.
If I hadn’t become a physiotherapist, I would have been a professional musician – either a rock God or Symphony Orchestra Mainstay. When I retire, I’ll look to spend time with people I love and pursue endeavours that enrich me.
Unique things about me? My favorite fruit is banana and my oldest guitar is only a year younger than me. When golfing, I putt left handed but swing right handed with all other clubs.
