The Longbeach Trail begins at the Patterson River (map here). 

  • Begin your journey on a slight downhill slope heading north, tracing the western edge of the Wannarkladdin Wetlands.
  • Wind through Bicentennial Park in Chelsea Heights, following the main track through the park’s center. Merge right towards Thames Promenade, and then turn right onto the gravel path at the traffic lights.
  • Safely cross Thames Promenade at the signalised crossing, and continue your northward journey.
  • Cross Edithvale Road at another signalised crossing, keeping your course to the north.
  • Progress towards Mordialloc, staying on the gravel path as you pass Browns Reserve and Mordialloc College.
  • Navigate under the Frankston Line until the gravel path transforms into a concrete path. Make a right turn towards Mordialloc.
  • Cross Pompei Bridge over Mordialloc Creek, executing an immediate U-turn to the right. Although the path along the river marks the beginning of the Mordialloc Creek Trail, the Longbeach Trail proceeds down the ramp, passing under Nepean Highway, and heads toward the beach.
  • Complete your journey by the Tour de Cafe at Mordialloc Beach, which seamlessly connects to the Bay Trail. This pathway will lead you to the City via a shared route, making your journey even more convenient.
