Bill: Is a podiatrist a real doctor?
Steve: What is a real doctor? A podiatrist…
Bill: Grab the stethoscope.
Steve: … is a doctor. We have over here is a stethoscope which is used by medical doctors.
Bill: Medical doctors, yes.
Steve: And physios, too, by the way.
Bill: That ’s another story. So, I think the question is “is a podiatrist a medical doctor or a real doctor?” Not a medical doctor. What are they a doctor of?
Steve: They’re a doctor of podiatry. And a podiatrist will look at feet, shin and the leg. Pretty much from the hip down. That’s a podiatrist scope of practice.
